Ag Day Notice

SCARECROW COMPETITION We are introducing a new Ag Day competition open to all Goodwood Explorers-the ‘Make a Scarecrow Competition’. The children construct their scarecrow during the school holidays and bring it to school on the first Monday back. They register their entry at the school office and the scarecrow will be judged and displayed on Ag Day.

MYSTERY BOTTLE We would like each school family to donate a bottle of something, wrapped up so that the contents remain a mystery. The contents are totally up to you- examples include shampoo, wine, sauce, preserves, hand cream, bottle filled with lollies-just as long as it is wrapped and purchasers can’t guess what is inside. These will be sold during the week leading up to Ag Day and on the day so please bring your bottle into the school office before the end of this term. Thank you for supporting this fundraising initiative.

CAFÉ
There will be a number of guests visiting our school on Ag Day so we will be selling morning tea and lunch items. If you can provide a batch of muffins of a slice please let Jenny in the office know- 827 6817 or e-mail jenny@goodwood.school.nz. Your support will be very much appreciated.

Lily's Worlds Experience

Lily has just returned from racing at the BMX World Champs held in Rockhill, SC, USA. With over 3500 competitors from 40 countries this year was the biggest World Champs ever held. Conditions were very hot and humid, several times practice was delayed by the intense thunderstorms when everybody had to evacuate the grounds to vehicles and buildings and wait for the all clear! Fortunately, race days were unaffected.  Lily had a great day of racing, winning her 3 motos and transferring through the knockout rounds of 1/8, 1/4 and semi finals all the way to the Main (final), a huge achievement! Lily had a great start in her final and came out of the first corner in 4th, at the end of the 2nd straight she tangled with a USA rider and crashed. With her never give up attitude she got back on her bike and finished the race in 8th place.   The Worlds experience is a unique opportunity to represent NZ as an age group representative and enjoy being with the team. Grass Heads
